Svend S. Schultz
Svend Simon Schultz (born December 30, 1913 in Nykøbing Falster , † June 6, 1998 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish composer and conductor.
Schultz studied at the Royal Danish Conservatory in Copenhagen with Poul Schierbeck . From 1942 to 1949 he worked as a music critic for the newspaper Politiken , after which he was choir conductor for the Danish radio. He composed several operas (including Bag Kulisserne ; Solbadet , 1929; Kaffehuset , 1949; Hyrdinden og Skorstensfejeren , 1953; Hosekræmmeren , 1955), two symphonies and a Sinfonia piccola (1941), two piano concerts, a serenade for strings (1940), a flute quintet, (1944), Une amourette for wind quintet, Pan lo (1944) and the oratorio Job (1946), as well as music for films and radio plays. But above all his lyrical choral works became known.
