Svenska Högarna fyr is a lighthouse on the largest island of Storön in the Swedish archipelago Svenska Högarna . The archipelago is located in a nature reserve in Blidö socken in Norrtälje kommun , Stockholm County in the Stockholm archipelago .

history

The lighthouse on Storön was built in 1855, which was replaced in 1874 by a lighthouse built by Gustav von Heidenstam. This tower is made of iron with half-timbered struts.

It is the only lighthouse built by Heidenstam in the Stockholm archipelago. The lighthouse was automated in 1966 and has been vacant since 1968.

The lighting device has been operated electrically with a light intensity of 12,000 cd since 1965 . The electricity is generated with a diesel generator.

Fog signal

In the case of fog, a typhon is also used with a sound sequence with a long and a short tone within 60 seconds (6 + 4 + 2 + 48).
