Svenska Scoutrådet (SSR; Swedish for Swedish Scout Council ), founded in 1968, was an umbrella organization of the Swedish scout movement until September 2013 .
history
The first boy scout groups were formed in Sweden as early as 1908 and only two years later boy scout groups were formed. In 1922 the Swedish scouts became members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement ; In 1928 the Swedish Girl Scouts followed with membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts .
Today Svenska Scoutrådet has around 90,000 members. Most scout groups are co-educational.
The Swedish scouts have always had a close relationship with the Swedish royal family . King Carl XVI. Gustaf is the most prominent member of the Swedish scout movement.
The scout motto is in Swedish: Var redo! - Alltid redo! (Be ready! - Always ready!).

- Svenska Missionskyrkans Ungdom Scout (SMU; Scout Organization of the Swedish Mission Church ) with 18,000 members
- KFUK-KFUMs Scoutförbund (Scout Association of the Swedish YWCA and YMCA ) with 10,000 members
- Nykterhetsrörelsens Scoutförbund (NSF; Scout Association of Guttempler ) with 5,500 members
- Frälsningsarméns Scoutförbund (FA; Scout Association of the Salvation Army ) with 1,200 members
