Sveta Grigorjeva

Sveta Grigorjeva (born January 16, 1988 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian poet , choreographer and dancer.

life and work

Sveta Grigorjeva grew up in the Lasnamäe district of Tallinn , where the majority of the population is Russian-speaking. She graduated from high school in Tallinn in 2007 and then studied choreography at Tallinn University . In the meantime, she continued her education abroad and graduated with a master's degree in 2013 .

Her first poems appeared in the magazines Värske Rõhk and Vikerkaar , which were soon followed by their debut. Her poetry has been compared with punk and at the same time highly praised by respected colleagues: Hasso Krull wrote : This is a collection of poems “that shakes you: The lyrics are dense, the tempo is high, even feverish; various registers of language alternate quickly, sometimes kaleidoscopically; One rushes from a high level of style to a low level, from sublimity to submissiveness, from euphoria to lethargy, from affected repetitions to logical paradoxes.
