The Swakop Bridge is a road bridge built between 1967 and 1969 over the Swakop near Swakopmund in Namibia . The bridge is a made of concrete manufactured girder bridge with a maximum span of 75 meters and a total length of 587 meters.
The Swakop Bridge connects Swakopmund on the northern side of the river with Langstrand , Dolfynstrand and Walvis Bay on the southern side; it is only around 500 meters from the river mouth in the South Atlantic .
To the west of the current road bridge, the Swakop Railway Bridge was another bridge until 1934, of which only cement foundations have survived. It was built between 1928 and 1931.
