The Swithinbankhallet is a semicircular and 35 km long ice slope in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Kirwanveggen it lies between the Hallgrenskarvet and the Neumayer steep face .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (NBSAE, 1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) from 1958 to 1959. It is named after Charles Winthrop Molesworth Swithinbank (1926) –2014), glaciologist with the NBSAE.
