Syd Matters

Syd Matters is a music project from France that was launched in the early 2000s and has been a five-piece music group since 2008. The band can be assigned to indie rock or folk pop .

history

In the early 2000s, the singer-songwriter Jonathan Morali, who was born in Paris on April 14, 1973 and was still a student at Sarah Lawrence College when it was founded, founded Syd Matters as a solo music project and began giving concerts at the local level. The project was quickly signed by Third Side Records .

In 2003 the debut album A Whisper and a Sigh was released. This album debuted at number 115 in the national album charts. Two years later, Someday We Will Foresee Obstacles, the second studio album followed, which also made it into the charts. The songs Obstacles and To All of You were added to the official soundtrack of the 2015 adventure game Life Is Strange . Morali was also responsible for the score for the entire soundtrack. In 2008 Someday We Will Foresee Obstacles was reissued as a double album for the American market together with A Whisper and a Sigh via V2 Records .

Four other musicians have been firmly integrated with Syd Matters since 2008, so that since then they have functioned as a complete band. In January 2008, the third album, Ghost Days, was released, followed two years later with Brotherocean, the fourth album by Syd Matters, which also made it into the French charts. The two albums were released on the Because Music record company .
