The Sykes Cliffs over 300 m high cliffs on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . They tower 3 km west-southwest to 3 km south-southwest of Dreadnought Point on the south bank of Shrove Cove or east bank of Croft Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2006 after the British geologist Mark Adrian Sykes (* 1964), whose work from 1986 to 1989 for Nottingham University and the British Antarctic Survey contributed significantly to the understanding of stratigraphy , volcanology and geochemistry in this area to have.
