Company history

  • 1977: Sykes Enterprises is founded as a small engineering company with three employees in Charlotte, North Carolina
  • 1992: Sykes Enterprises takes over Jones Technologies, Inc. in Sterling, Colorado, entering the customer support business
  • 1993: The company is restructured and relocated to Tampa, Florida
  • 1996: Sykes Enterprises goes public and enters the international market by taking over the Swedish company Datasvar Support AB
  • 1997: Through acquisitions, Sykes Enterprises opens additional locations, including in Great Britain, the Philippines and Germany

Sykes in Germany

The SYKES EMEA organization (Europe, Middle East and Africa) provides business process outcoursing services that are individually tailored to customer needs in over 22 contact centers and with around 5000 employees in the respective language. 1997 Sykes Enterprises enters the German market with the takeover of existing contact centers. In 2016, Sykes Enterprises operates five contact centers in Berlin , Bochum , Pasewalk , Schortens and Solingen with a total of over 2,000 employees, as well as a project office in Frankfurt am Main . The business area Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be combined in the Sykes Enterprises corporate structure as Central Europe (CE) Area.
