Sykia ( Greek Συκιά = fig tree ) is a place in the Greek municipality of Amfipoli in Central Macedonia . It is located about 2 km west of the Strymon estuary and 1.5 km southwest of Nea Kerdylia . The ancient city of Argilos was 500 m to the west .

In 1976 the Greek archaeologist Dimitrios Lazaridis found two Macedonian graves. The tomb, known as Macedonian Tomb 1 , is located at the western exit of Sykia. The younger Macedonian grave 2 is located about 100 m east of the village. By 1980 Lazaridis had discovered 18 other graves from the classical period . In 1986, when the national road Aftokinitodromos 2 was expanded , graves and ceramics from archaic , classical and Hellenistic times were uncovered. It has not yet been clarified whether the cemetery belonged to Argilos or Amphipolis , which in the 4th century had spread to the west bank of the Strymon.

400 m west of the village on the hill Tetralofos are the remains of a bunker from the Second World War .
