Sylabil Spill (bourgeois Musitu Kumuini , born January 6, 1983 in Kinshasa ) is a German rapper of Congolese origin. He was under contract with the Bonn label Kopfticker Records .
biography
Sylabil Spill was born on January 6, 1983 in the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kinshasa. In 1990 he moved with his family to Bonn , where he spent most of his youth. Under the name Freezah aka Mr. Ygor, he appeared on freestyle battles from 1996 and got into writing about them. Because of the high number of syllables in his raps he was nicknamed "Sylabil Spill" (English as much as "syllable abundance"), which he eventually used as a stage name.
On January 30th, 2009 he released his debut album Negative Energy , on which 22 tracks are included, while various providers gave a tracklist of 25 tracks and some of them still are. On January 24, 2014 his album Steine & Onions , which contains 22 tracks, was released. Sylabil Spill's songs can mostly be assigned to the style of battlerap . His lyrics are characterized by a high number of punchlines , a very large vocabulary for rap and complex formulations. In reviews and articles, his rap style is often described as "brute". The beats on his albums and numerous EPs can usually be assigned to the boombap style, with samples being used as a rule. On July 24, 2016 it was announced that he is now under contract with Kopfticker Records, a label of the German rapper Xatar . The label was closed again in 2017.
Personal
Sylabil Spill was active as a competitive athlete in his youth, among other things he was a successful athlete and played football. Today he supports young athletes as part of the "Trackrunner" project and works with them as a trainer.
In interviews he often mentions how much value he attaches to the actual art of rapping; he criticizes the image and PR measures of other rappers and refuses to advertise his publications on social media. His frequently quoted motto “Wackness has no skin color” goes back to a 2008 interview.
