The synagogue in La Chaux-de-Fonds , a town in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel , was built from 1894 to 1896 according to plans by the architect Ludwig Levy . The synagogue at 53 rue du Parc is a cultural asset of national importance .

The services were initially held in a private apartment by the Jewish families who moved here after 1830. In 1863 the first synagogue of the Jewish community was built, which was inaugurated on June 24, 1863 by the rabbi Moïse Nordmann from Hégenheim .

On May 13, 1896, the new synagogue, built in neo-Byzantine style, was inaugurated by Rabbi Jules Wolff . The architect Ludwig Levy from the Palatinate had already built the following synagogues: Old Synagogue in Thionville , Synagogue in Kaiserslautern and the Old Synagogue in Pforzheim .
