The synagogue in Ružomberok , a Slovak town in the district of the same name , was built in 1880 and was used for worship until the Second World War . The secular synagogue in the neo-Romanesque style is a protected cultural monument .

The synagogue building at Panská ul. 3 was recently renovated and is now used as a cultural center.

architecture

The elongated structure with high arched windows is plastered and painted red and white. In the entrance area on the west side there is a vestibule with stairs on both sides to lofts that served as prayer rooms for the women. The main hall has three aisles with three columns on each side. These are also supported by the galleries.

The original Torah shrine is still present on the east wall .
