history

The synagogue in the Moorish style with ornamental paintings inside was built according to plans by the Viennese architect Wilhelm Stiassny . The wooden coffered ceiling and the women's gallery have been preserved.

After the Second World War , the synagogue building was initially used as a sales room. An art gallery was set up in the building from 1970 to around 1990.

After the political change in the Czech Republic, the synagogue became the property of the Prague Jewish Community. The restoration of the synagogue was completed in 2011.
