Synagogue (Hoppstädten)
The synagogue in Hoppstädten, a district of the municipality of Hoppstädten-Weiersbach in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was built in 1835/36. The derelict synagogue has the address Im pen 16.
history
The two-story synagogue, towering over the surrounding houses, was inaugurated on August 26, 1836. It was equipped with arched windows and a neo-Romanesque arched frieze. In addition to the main room, there was a women's gallery in the prayer room .
During the November pogrom in 1938 , the interior was completely destroyed. During the Second World War , the building served temporarily as a warehouse for French prisoners of war. In August 1942 it was bought by a private person and converted into a residential building with four apartments.
