The synagogue in Mogendorf , a local community in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate , was built in 1849/50 and destroyed in the November pogrom in 1938 .

The synagogue on Fuhrgasse, which was built on the model of the synagogue in synagogue in Hadamar , had 80 places for men and 25 places for women on the gallery .

During the November pogrom in 1938 , the synagogue was desecrated and completely demolished by SS men. These smashed the windows of the building and destroyed the interior. On the afternoon of November 10th, an attempt was made to set fire to the synagogue, but the fire was extinguished by Mogendorfer citizens who feared the fire would spread to neighboring houses. A bomb caused further destruction during World War II .

Todays use

In 1952 the synagogue property became the property of the Protestant parish of Mogendorf. This converted the ruins into the local Protestant church.

A plaque commemorates the former synagogue.
