history
The financing of the construction costs was largely made possible by auctioning the synagogue spaces. In the new synagogue, which was much larger than the previous building, there were 62 places for men. In 1843 a thorough renovation of the synagogue was carried out. At the same time, women's galleries were built on both sides .
During the November pogrom of 1938 , the interior of the synagogue was completely destroyed on November 10th. The mayor Huck prevented the synagogue from being set on fire.
In 1950 the synagogue building was sold by the Israelitische Landesgemeinde Südbaden to a local industrial company, who converted the building into a factory. An office building was added on the south side. In the 1990s the synagogue building was converted into a residential building.
In 2001, parts of a Genisa were found in the former synagogue building.
