Systematics of the pterosaurs

The following systematics of the pterosaurs is intended to give an overview of all valid genera of these Mesozoic reptiles . It is based on a work by the palaeontologist David M. Unwin from 2006. Genera described since then (not yet complete) are referenced by individual documents. The "long-tailed pterosaurs (Rhamphorhynchoidea)" are no longer listed as a taxon because of their paraphyly .
