Syväri is a lake in the countryside Savo in eastern Finland . It has an area of 80.74 km² and is at an altitude of 95.5 m. The lake lies within the municipal boundaries of Kuopio and Lapinlahti .
In the catchment area of the Syväri there are several lakes to the northeast: Nurmesjärvi , Sälevä , Korpinen , Älänne , Laakajärvi . The water of the lake flows over the Lastukoski rapids to Lake Vuotjärvi in the south and on to the Iso-Kalla lake system. The Nilsiän reitti waterway runs along the same route and bypasses the rapids via a canal .
The tourist town of Tahkovuori is located on the banks of the Syväri.
