Szabolcs Laurencz [ ˈsɒboltʃ ˈlɒurents ] (born December 19, 1978 in Budapest , Hungary ) is a Hungarian handball player . He is 1.84 m tall.

Laurencz, who played for TSV Dormagen (shirt number 19) and has already played for the Hungarian men's handball team (shirt number 17), is mostly used in the right backcourt .

Szabolcs Laurencz started playing handball in his hometown. He also made his debut in the first Hungarian league for the local Budapest Elektromos SE and was in the final of the Hungarian cup competition. In 2000 Laurencz moved on to Százhalombatta, in 2001 to Ceglédi KK and 2003 to Csömör KSK, before signing a contract with German second division TSV Dormagen in 2005 . With the Rhinelander, Laurencz reached relegation to promotion to the first handball league in 2006 and 2007 , but failed. It was not until the third attempt that he rose to the top German league in 2008. In 2009, Laurencz moved to the then second division club TSG Groß-Bieberau for three years . Since 2012 he has been playing for the Hessian regional top division club TSV Modau.

Szabolcs Laurencz has only played one international match for the Hungarian national team and has not taken part in any major international tournament.
