Szilvia Káhn

Szilvia Káhn (born December 31, 1969 ) is a Hungarian table tennis player . In 2009 she won the European Senior Championship in doubles.

Career in Hungary

Káhn was nominated three times for the European Youth Championships. In 1984 she won gold with the Hungarian team. In 1986 and 1987 she reached the semi-finals in singles. At the national championships for adults she won five titles: 1987 singles and mixed with Zsolt Kriston, 1988 mixed with the same partner, 1989 doubles with Krisztina Karádi and 1990 mixed with Béla Frank. With the club Statisztika Petőfi SC she was 1986/87 and 1988/89 team champion of Hungary. At the 1987 World Cup , she reached third place with the team.

Career in Germany

In 1995 Káhn began to play for German clubs and for several years in the Bundesliga . Via the SpVgg. Ludwigsburg (1995/96), TV Busenbach (1996/97), MTV Stuttgart (1997/98), SV Böblingen (1998/99) and Burgstall she came to TTC Bietigheim-Bissingen, with whom she was in the Association League champion. With a 40-0 record, she made a significant contribution to the success. Today (2015) she plays at TSV Oberboihingen.

In 2009 she took part in a senior European championship for the first time. Although she was not yet 40 years old, she was allowed to compete in the 40- to 49-year-old class in Poreč, Croatia . Here she reached the final in the singles, in which she was defeated by Olga Nemes . With Olga Nemes she became European champion in doubles.

Private

Szilvia Káhn has two children. Her daughter Leonie Hartbrich , who was born in Budapest, competed for Hungary at the 2019 World Cup .
