Tønnes Frøyland

Tønnes Frøyland (* 1879 in Sogndal i Dalane ; † March 8, 1914 in Laohekou , Hubei in China ) was a missionary of the Norwegian Lutheran China Mission . He studied medicine in the USA, Vienna and London . From 1909 he worked as a doctor in China and built a hospital in Laohekou. In 1914 he was killed in a robbery on the city.

The new hospital in Laohekou, which was built in 1927 and has 70 beds, is named after him.
