Within Germany, TAF Germany eV grants the rights to hold relevant regional and German championships. There are the following TAF Germany departments : DiscoDance, Discofox, Salsa, Oriental dance, West Coast Swing, Streetdance, Tapdance, Jumpstyle, Showdance, Jazz- and Modern, Ballet and couple dance in general.

Emergence

In 1978 the first German championship as a disco and show dance tournament took place in the Wiesbaden Kurhaus and is considered to be the "founding" of the organization, which at that time was not called TAF, but as a tournament organization for these dances in the RLA of the General German Dance Teachers Association (ADTV). The first tournament director took over the organization of these competitions a short time later and again a few years later the name TAF - Tournament Office for Leisure Competitions.

In 1982 TAF joined the IDO as an independent tournament organization . In 1984 the first street dance competitions were held. Approx. In 1996/1997 TAF - Tanz-Action-Fun or Freizeit (both formulations were used in parallel at times) was created. In 1998 TAF became a founding member of the "new IDO" under the IDO vice-presidency of the TAF leader Michael Wendt.

In the following years TAF switched to the online administration of tournament operations (2000) and the formulation "The Actiondance Federation" was officially used for TAF (2003). In 2012 the previous TAF was dissolved and founded as TAF Germany eV . new and subtitled The Actiondance Federation .

In 2013 TAF Germany joined ADTV as an extraordinary member and DTV as a professional association with special tasks and in 2014 TAF Honorary President Michael Wendt was elected IDO President.
