Leonor Andrade (born September 13, 1994 in Palmela ), also known as Ella Nor , is a Portuguese singer and actress . She represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna .

Life

Andrade comes from the Freguesia Quinta do Anjo within the municipality of Palmela , south of Lisbon. She took piano lessons for the first time at the age of four. She later joined her brother's band when they needed a singer. She also attended a music school for a total of ten years.

In 2014, she participated in the second season of A Voz de Portugal , the Portuguese version of The Voice , and reached the 13th show. She then became part of the cast of RTP1 -Telenovela Àgua de mar , where she played the role of Joana Luz.

On February 19, it was announced that Andrade was one of twelve candidates at the 48th Festival da Canção . With the contribution Há um mar que nos separa (English: There is a sea that separates us), she reached the finals of the festival on March 7, 2015 and won the local superfinal of the best three. At the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, after taking part in the second semi-final, she could no longer qualify for the final. It was ranked 14th out of 17th.
