Celia Lawson

Célia Maria Fernandes Lawson or Ira (born June 9, 1974 in Angola ) is a Portuguese singer .

At the age of 15 she started singing with Portuguese hard rock and cover bands . In the early 1990s she sang with the heavy metal band V12 . After this time she became active as a pop singer. With the ballad Antes do Adeus she won the Festival da Canção in 1997 and was therefore allowed to compete for her country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in Dublin . However, she ended up in last place with Norway with zero points.

From this time she was again active as a rock singer with the name Ira .

In 2017 she took part in the fifth season of the Portuguese version of the casting show The Voice and sang Still Loving You from the Scorpions in the blind audition . She was able to qualify for the Battle Round, but then dropped out early.
