Suzy (born January 24, 1980 in Figueira da Foz ; real life Susana Guerra ) is a Portuguese singer.

Live and act

Suzy comes from the traditional Portuguese seaside resort of Figueira da Foz . Under the stage names Susana and Susana G she sang in musical productions by the successful theater director Filipe La Féria and was a guest singer with the popular pop groups Onda Choc and Anjos . In particular, her duet with the Anjos in 1999 in their Christmas carol Nesta noite branca (Eng .: In this white night) made her known. The song is still often played on Portuguese radio during the festive days. She also toured the Portuguese communities in North America. In 2012 she emigrated to Dubai , caused by the economic crisis in Portugal as a result of the euro crisis . Since then she has worked as a flight attendant for Emirates Airlines .

Suzy is the queen of the Carnaval de Buarcos 2014 , the nationally known carnival parade in the seaside resort Buarcos (Figueira da Foz). Carnival King 2014 is the famous singer Emanuel .

On March 15, 2014, Suzy was selected by the Portuguese preliminary round Festival da Canção to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen . There she performed her pop song Quero ser tua (Eng .: I want to belong to you). However, she did not reach the finals, but caused a sensation with the song, as some passages of Kaoma 's classic Lambada were sampled .
