Nucha (singer)

Nucha (* 21st June 1966 in Águeda as Cristina Isabel dos Santos Baldaia Trindade ) is a Portuguese pop-rock - singer .

After an unsuccessful participation in the Festival da Canção in 1988, she emerged as the winner in the preliminary decision in 1990. Therefore she was allowed to compete for her country Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 in Zagreb . Her pop song Há semper alguém landed far behind in 20th place. Nevertheless, Nucha remained a familiar face, released a few albums and, above all, had numerous appearances on Portuguese television.

In 2009 and 2010 she tried again at the Festival da Canção: In 2009 she made it to the final with Tudo está na tua mão and landed there in ninth place. In 2010 she sang her fourth place in the quarterfinals with the dramatic ballad Chuva and qualified for the first semifinal. Here she only reached twelfth and thus last place.
