Filipa Sousa

Filipa Sousa (born March 2, 1985 in Albufeira ) is a Portuguese singer .

At a young age she took piano and singing lessons and successfully took part in several fado singing competitions. In 2003 she first took part in the casting show Operação Triunfo (the Portuguese Fame Academy ), but did not make it into the top 30 participants. When she took part again in 2007, she made it into the "Gala Shows" and landed in 12th place. In 2012 she won the Festival da Canção music competition and was therefore allowed to compete for her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku . Her melancholy Fado Vida Minha ("My Life") started in the second semifinals, where she did not qualify for the final of the competition.
