Cláudia Rafaela Teixeira Pascoal (born October 12, 1994 in São Pedro da Cova , Gondomar ) is a Portuguese singer . She competed for Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon .

Career

After taking part in the talent show Ídolos , the Portuguese version of Pop Idol , in 2010, Pascoal also took part in the first season of Factor X , the Portuguese version of the format The X Factor , in 2013 . The following year she applied to host the talk show Curto Circuito on the SIC youth broadcaster SIC Radical, where she took third place. In 2015 she took part in Ídolos a second time . In the fifth season of The Voice of Portugal , Pascoal was eliminated in the semifinals in 2017, which put them in 6th place overall.

In 2018 Pascoal took part in the Portuguese preliminary decision for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the Festival da Canção 2018 , with the song O Jardim (The Garden) written by Isaura . In the final she was tied with her fellow competitor Catarina Miranda. However, since she had won the audience rating, she was declared the winner. She represented her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon and came last. Since Portugal won last year, she was automatically qualified for the Grand Final.
