history

Bremer TG was founded in 1859 by craftsmen , skilled workers and merchants . In 1919 a football division was established, which reached the second highest division in the 1920s. After the Second World War , the Bremen TG formed the SG Neustadt together with the Free Gymnastics Association Neustadt and FC Stern Bremen . The Bremen TG was re-established as early as 1946, while the remainder of the association was renamed TuS Bremen-Neustadt in 1950 .

In 1952, the Bremen TG rose under coach Erich Hänel in the then second-class Bremen State League . The former national player was also active as a player for Bremer SV in the Oberliga Nord . Three descents in a row let the Bremer TG slide down into the 1st district class. In 1961 they returned to the association league before the Bremen TG rose again to the Bremen upper house in 1965.

There they finished fourth in the 1965/66 season. A year later, however, the team rose again and spent the next few years in the association league. On January 1, 1972, the Bremen TG merged with the TuS Bremen-Neustadt to form the Bremen TS Neustadt .
