The TSG Terpsichore Friedberg e. V. - TSA Friedberg is a dance sport club in Friedberg (Hessen) . The club's standard formation started in the 1st Bundesliga Standard in the 2015/2016 season.

The club offers tournament dance in individual as well as various hobby and popular sports groups.

history

The association was founded on October 11, 1993 on the initiative of August and Claudia Wehrheim and Ilona Witte. The Wehrheims run a dance school. Ilona Witte was the trainer of the standard formation, August Wehrheim was the trainer of the Latin formation of TSA Friedberg.

Standard formation

The standard formation was launched in 1991, before the association was founded. She started consistently in league tournaments, initially in the Upper and Regional South Standard. In 2003 she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. The standard formation of the TSA Friedberg danced there until 2006, before being relegated back to the Oberliga Süd Standard in the following years due to a lack of staff.

In the 2010/2011 season, the team returned to the Regionalliga Süd Standard and took fourth place. In the following year, the formation with the new coach Maximilian Witte reached second place and thus qualified for the promotion tournament to the 2. Bundesliga Standard. These successes were repeated in the 2012/2013 season. Since the 2013/2014 season, Thorsten Heimann, the former trainer of the standard formation at TC Rot-Weiss Casino Mainz , has been one of the trainers of the standard formation. The team took first place in the Regionalliga Süd Standard this season and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga Standard in the promotion tournament.

The 2014/2015 season ended the formation in third place in the 2. Bundesliga Standard. After TSC Schwarz-Gold Göttingen withdrew its B-Team from the 1st Bundesliga Standard in autumn 2015, the standard formation of TSA Friedberg moved up to the vacated starting place. At the beginning of June, the standard formation left the club and joined TSC Metropol Hofheim, with which they will start in the 2nd Bundesliga Standard as the Rhine-Main formation community in the 2016/2017 season.
