The TSV Bassum (officially: Turn- und Sportverein Bassum von 1858 eV ) is a sports club from the town of Bassum in the district of Diepholz in Lower Saxony . The club owns divisions for soccer , handball , swimming , table tennis , basketball and volleyball .
Club history
The TSV Bassum sees itself in the tradition of a gymnastics club that emerged as part of the gymnastics movement , to which a flag was donated in 1858. Predecessor clubs were the men's gymnastics club (MTV) Bassum founded in 1861 and the gymnastics club "Jahn" founded in 1883. In 1911 the football club "Spiel und Sport" was founded in Bassum, which shortly afterwards joined the Jahn gymnastics club. After all old sports clubs were dissolved by the British occupying forces , former members of the Jahn gymnastics club founded TSV Bassum on December 3, 1945 .
Football department
In the season 1947/48 the TSV Bassum occupied the 13th and last place of the season Bremen of the Landesliga Niedersachsen / Bremen and thus rose. Since then, the club has played almost continuously in the lower divisions of the Lower Saxony Football Association up to the district league. Only in the seasons 1957/58 and 1959/60 succeeded in advancing to the then second highest amateur class in Lower Saxony, the amateur league , which was followed by immediate relegation.
After relegation from the district class in 2003, TSV Bassum played in the district league Diepholz until 2008, then until 2013 in the district league, in the 2013/14 season again in the district league and since then again in the district league.
In the 2015/2016 season, the B-Juniors of TSV Bassum managed to win the championship in the Hanover regional league and thus rose to the Hanover regional league.
