The community Reinschdorf (Polish Gmina Reńska Wieś ) is a rural community in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship . The municipality seat is Reinschdorf . The community is bilingual in Polish and German.

The municipality is located in southern Upper Silesia and in the north of the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . The municipality has an area of ​​97.91 km², 82% of which is agricultural land and 10% is forest. It occupies an area of ​​15.66% of the district.

In addition to the Polish population, 3042 people (34.5%) stated German nationality (ethnicity) in the 2002 census. In the 2011 census, the percentage of Germans was 32% or 2648 people.

Community leader

The head of the municipal administration is the municipality leader . Since 2008, this has been Marian Wojciechowski, who did not run for the regular new election in October 2018. The regular election brought the following result:

  • Tomasz Kandziora ( German Minority Election Committee ) 59.3% of the vote
  • Norbert Greger (election committee "Norbert Greger - A community for the people") 31.4% of the votes
  • Klaudiusz Sambok (Election Committee “For a Safe and Common Community”) 7.7% of the vote
  • Patryk Izaak ( Silesian Regional Party ) 3.0% of the vote

Kandziora was thus elected as the new mayor in the first ballot.

Municipal council

The municipal council consists of 15 members and is directly elected in single-person constituencies. The 2018 municipal council election led to the following result:

  • German minority election committee 54.6% of the vote, 13 seats
  • Election committee "Norbert Greger - A community for the people" 34.5% of the votes, 2 seats
  • Election Committee “For a Safe and Common Congregation” 7.7% of the vote, no seat
  • Silesian Regional Party 2.3%, no seat
