Soccer

1930 to 1974

In 1930 a football division was set up at TSV Stelingen. In 1940, however, the game had to be stopped due to the war . After the war, football was played again in April 1946 after enough players had found each other. The resources available were very limited: British camouflage nets were used as goal nets and work boots were misused as football boots. In addition, the occupation authorities made it difficult to play football, as permits first had to be obtained for trips away. Normal point games could only be carried out again in 1958. Finally, the Stelinger rose to the 1st district class .

1974 to 1986

In 1974 the former player Volker Finke took over TSV Stelingen first as a player-coach, then only as a coach. From then on it went uphill in terms of football: After the championship in the 1st district class, further promotions followed. As early as 1982 TSV played in the district league, 1983 in the Hanover regional league . In the same year they also gambled away the victory against the regional division Prussia Hameln in the district cup. In 1985 it did not work out either: They lost again to Prussia Hameln in the same competition. Just in time for the 60th year of the club's history, the district cup was finally won. The final opponent was again Prussia Hameln. At that time, Volker Finke was no longer the trainer of the Stelinger. Before the final, he switched to local rivals TSV Havelse , whom he would lead to the 2nd Bundesliga a few years later .

1986 to 1995

After Manfred Bißmeyer's brief engagement, Horst-Dieter became a brand trainer for TSV. In 1986, it provided what was perhaps the greatest success of the Stelingen football department: they won the Lower Saxony Cup, the prize of which entitles them to take part in the first round of the DFB Cup. The then second division Arminia Bielefeld was drawn to the Steling team. Before the important first round match, however, four top performers left the team. The game against Bielefeld was finally lost in the TSV Havelse stadium with 1: 5. After these very successful years, TSV Stelingen slowly went down, which ended in descent to the district league in 1995.

1995 until today

After many years of reconstruction under coach Jörg Weißenborn, in 1999 the district cup was finally held in hands again. In the summer of 1999 Jörg Weißenborn was replaced by Oliver Kauna, who led TSV Stelingen into the Hanover regional league in the 2000/01 season . This had resulted in three ascents in a row. After two years there was another decline. In 2004 the TSV was able to return to the regional league. In 2007/08, TSV Stelingen also played in the Lower Saxony league for another year. After three years of sixth division in the regional league or regional league, the TSV rose in the 2010/11 season in the Hanover 2 regional league.
