The TTC Calw is a former table tennis club from Calw in Baden-Württemberg. The men's team played in the Bundesliga from 1976 to 1981 .

development

The club emerged from the table tennis department of TSV Calw. Under the leadership of Johannes Koch, the men's team rose seven times in a row from 1969 and reached the Bundesliga in 1976 . The foundation stone for this success was the continuous reinforcement through newcomers, such as Laszlo Turzo, Derd Soos, Reinhard Sefried , Wolfgang Jäger, Ulrich Danzigmann and Jürgen Spengler. After the promotion in 1976 Hermann Hopman (Netherlands), Edvard Vecko , Rolf Jäger and Michael Krumtünger were committed. The most prominent player was the Yugoslav Dragutin Šurbek (1980–1982).

The greatest success was the German runner-up in 1978 behind Borussia Düsseldorf .

The following placements were achieved:

  • 1976/77: 4th place
  • 1977/78: 2nd place
  • 1978/79: 5th place
  • 1979/80: 9th place
  • 1980/81: 10th place

In 1977 the association was renamed TTC Jägermeister Calw. In 1981 the Bundesliga team broke up because the main sponsor withdrew.
