Reinhard Sefried

Reinhard Sefried (born July 12, 1955 ) is a former German table tennis player . In 1983 he won the German championship in doubles.

Career

Sefried began his career at Oberliga side SV Waldhof Mannheim and moved in 1972 to the TTC Calw , which he later direction TTC Esslingen left. With its men's team, he rose to the Bundesliga in 1980/81 . In 1982 he joined SSV Reutlingen 05 , with which he won the European Cup in 1982/83 . He later returned to the TTC Esslingen and helped it to get promoted to the Bundesliga again in 1986/87.

His other club stations were

Sefried achieved his greatest success at the National German Championships in 1983 in Münster (Westphalia). Here he was together with Michael Krumtünger German champion in doubles through a final victory against Wilfried Lieck and Manfred Nieswand . A year earlier he had already reached the final with the same partner, but it was lost to Lieck / Nieswand. In mixed he made it to the semi-finals in 1983 (with Heike Baltzer) and 1986 (with Judith Stumper ).

At the German championships for senior citizens over 40, he was second in singles in 1997 and third in doubles with Heinz Schlueter and third in mixed with Rose Diebold in 1998 .

Private

Sefried has a younger brother named Thomas (* 1963), who played with him at TTF Neuhausen and TTC Frickenhausen in the second division.
