Michael Krumtünger

Michael Krumtünger (born August 27, 1957 ) is a German table tennis player . In 1983 he won the German championship in doubles.

Career

Krumtünger began his career at the Spvgg. Rommelshausen club. His first success was winning the 1974 German Youth Championship in doubles with Peter Stellwag . The following year he reached the double end with Gerd Thieleke. In 1976 he moved to the newly promoted Bundesliga TTC Calw . His other club stations were

Krumtünger achieved his greatest success at the National German Championships in 1983 in Münster (Westphalia). Here he was German champion in doubles with Reinhard Sefried ahead of Wilfried Lieck / Manfred Nieswand . A year earlier he had already reached the final with the same partner, but it was lost to Lieck / Nieswand. He achieved further top placements at German championships in doubles and mixed:

  • 1980 second place in doubles with Rolf Jäger
  • 1982 second place in doubles with Reinhard Sefried
  • 1984 third place in mixed with Annette Mausolf
  • 1985 third place in mixed with Annette Mausolf
  • 1987 third place in mixed with Annette Mausolf
  • 1988 third place in doubles with Peter Stellwag
  • 1989 second place in doubles with Heiko Wirkner
  • 1991 third place in doubles with Heiko Wirkner, second place in mixed with Bettina Westphal

Seniors

Since the early 2000s, Krumtünger has regularly participated in senior tournaments. He won the title in doubles with Peter Fischer at the German Senior Championship in the age group over 50 in 2009.

Private

Michael Krumtünger, the son of Michael Krumtünger senior, has one son. His brother Dieter is a table tennis player with a league level. With him he ran a sports shop in Rommelshausen and Reutlingen, in which his twin partner Reinhard Sefried also worked. Krumtünger is a bank advisor by profession.
