Taavi Tamminen

Taavi Nikolai Tamminen (born March 10, 1889 in Uurainen , † January 19, 1967 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish wrestler .

Taavi Tamminen wrestled for the club Joensuu Kataja from eastern Finland Joensuu . At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , he won the silver medal in the Greco-Roman style in the lightweight, behind his compatriot Eemeli Väre . In November 1921 he took part in the world championships in his own country. In Helsinki he was in the middleweight up to 75 kg in front of Volmari Vikström , Edvard Vesterlund and Eemil Juvonen, all of whom came from Finland. At the Finnish championships in 1922 he was first in front of Eetu Huupponen and Kalle Vesterlund , in 1913 he was second behind Tatu Kolehmainen in Kotka .
