The Table Rock State Park is a recreation area on the shore of Table Rock Lake southwest of Branson in Taney County of the US state of Missouri . Ten thousand years ago, members of the Bluff Dwellers lived in the region. White settlers from Tennessee and North Carolina began to settle in the area from the early 19th century. In the late 1950s, the Table Rock Dam was built on the White River to generate electrical energy and to regulate the river during floods. This created the Table Rock Lake with an area of 174.4 km² and a shore length of over 1200 km and several million visitors a year.
The 144-acre state park was opened in 1959 on a stretch of shore south of the new dam. The facilities include campsites, an amphitheater, playgrounds, beaches and a boat harbor as well as other infrastructure for water skiing, sailing and paddle boats or diving in the clear water. Perch , crappies , sunfish and catfish can be fished in the lake .
