Taco maki

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Taco Maki , even Taco Sushi, is an Asian - South American - European fusion - court .

etymology

The term "taco-maki" is a combination of words from the Mexican fast food dish taco in the form of the folded (instead of the rolled up) tortilla and the Japanese maki sushi . While taco are a finger food item, sushi maki is eaten with chopsticks.

This is not to be confused with a subspecies of the well-known Japanese Maki Sushi, in which octopus is used as the basis or content for the “rice roll” that serves as the shape. The Japanese name for this is 蛸 巻 き 寿司 (Tako Maki Sushi), where the first character with the reading tako stands for octopus.

description

It consists of a nori sheet into which - like a taco - ingredients are filled. Rice and raw meat (low in connective tissue - preferably well-laid back pieces, meat pieces or fillet ) - similar to sushi - are used as fillings.

Deer meat or venison are primarily used in game takomaki ; the rice is acidified with pine vinegar ; the meat is seasoned with fermented porcini mushroom sauce and freshly grated horseradish instead of soy sauce and wasabi . Pickled wood sorrel is consumed between bites to refresh the palate.

Takomaki is also available as a fish- takomaki and mushroom- takomaki ( vegan ).
