Tadeusz Janczar
Tadeusz Janczar aka. Tadeusz Musiał (born April 25, 1926 in Warsaw , † October 31, 1997 in Warsaw) was a Polish actor .
Janczar began his acting career during the Second World War at the Polish Front Theater. After the war, he first played children's theater in Warsaw and was then employed at the theater in Olsztyn . He became known to a wide audience through his film work in the 1950s, especially through the films A Generation and The Canal by Andrzej Wajda . Wajda said that young Janczar reminded him of young Henry Fonda . Despite the success of the films, Janczar concentrated on theater work. At the beginning of the 1960s he was a member of the ensemble at the Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw, which is under directorAdam Hanuszkiewicz developed into one of the most interesting theaters in Poland at the time. After Hanuszkiewicz was appointed artistic director of the Polish National Theater in Warsaw in 1968, Janczar also moved to the National Theater ensemble in 1969. He remained a member of the ensemble until Adam Hanuszkiewicz was deposed as artistic director by the communist regime and then withdrew into private life. The only role he still played was the role of a doctor and former concentration camp prisoner in the television series Dom from 1980 to 1996 . Janczar was married to the actress Małgorzata Lorentowicz , who died in May 2005. Their son Krzysztof Janczar and grandson Krzysztof Artur Janczar are also actors.
