The talk of the day is a talk show of the Bavarian Radio . It will be broadcast Monday to Friday from 12:05 to 13:00 on the radio program Bayern 2 , at the same time in BR-alpha , today ARD-alpha . The first broadcast was broadcast on October 2, 1995.

concept

The so-called call-in program was developed by Klaus Kastan in 1995 as head of the Listener Forum and Media Criticism department. He moderated the program until 2006. The moderators discuss current topics from politics, business and society on a daily basis.

After a brief summary of the topic, an “expert” invited to the studio is usually introduced. During the first 20 years of the talk, guests included Senta Berger , Paul Kirchhof , Angela Merkel , Anne-Sophie Mutter , Armin Nassehi , Johannes Rau , Edgar Reitz , Claudia Roth and Horst Seehofer .

Depending on the topic, other experts who represent opposing positions will also be switched on during the course of the program. In the course of the broadcast, callers are put through to the broadcast, who can contribute their opinion on the respective topic and discuss it with the experts and other callers.

With the simultaneous broadcast in BR-alpha and ARD-alpha since 1998, the talk of the day is also present in the network on BR-Online. The listeners and viewers can comment on the current program and get detailed information about the respective topics via podcast.

The program is not produced in the radio studio from which the other Bayern 2 program is broadcast, but in a television studio.
