Daylight lamp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under a daylight lamp is in the photograph an artificial light source having the color temperature of the daylight understood.

In contrast to the flash light , a daylight lamp provides continuous light . The color temperature of approx. 5500 Kelvin (white point) and a spectral composition corresponding to natural light are used to describe the quality of light . One therefore speaks of full spectrum lamps . When providing daylight, LED lighting technology is usually used .

technology

In general lighting technology , fluorescent lamps are called daylight or full spectrum lamps , the color spectra of which are based on natural daylight. According to DIN EN 12.464, their color temperature is 5300 to 6500 Kelvin. They are mainly used to illuminate workplaces. Incandescent lamps or halogen lamps with a (blue) conversion filter are also used as daylight lamps .

The main use is the color fidelity, as it is important in photography and presentation, for example in galleries and museums, with jewelers, with textiles and also cut flowers. This is measured using the Color Rendering Index  (Ra / CRI, around 100).

In the medical field, daylight lamps are used in light therapy against winter depression , typically with high illuminance levels (> 2000  lux ). It is also used as lighting for work rooms, for example, with presumably positive effects on general well-being.
