Tahar Chaïbi (born February 17, 1946 in Tunis ; † April 29, 2014 ) was a Tunisian football player .

Athletic career

Chaïbi played for Club Africain Tunis in his hometown between 1959 and 1975 . During this time he won the Championnat de Tunisie four times with the club and the Coupe de Tunisie seven times . There were also international titles with winning the Maghreb Cup Winners Cup in 1971 and the two-time success at the Maghreb Champions Cup , which the club won three times in a row from 1974 to 1976.

Between 1965 and 1972 Chaïbi played for the Tunisian national team . Under coach Mokhtar Ben Nacef , he reached the final with the country selection at the 1965 African Cup , which was lost to Ghana after extra time.
