Maghreb Cup Winners Cup
The Maghreb Cup Winners Cup , ( French : Coupe du Maghreb des vainqueurs de coupe ), was a football club competition in North Africa , which was played only six times from 1969 to 1975. The respective cup winners of the former Maghreb countries Algeria , Morocco , Tunisia and Libya as well as the defending champion were eligible to participate . However, Libya only took part in the first edition in 1969. From the semi-finals onwards, the game was played in a pure knockout system in just one game at one location within a few days. At the last event in 1975, six teams were at the start. This competition is often referred to or viewed as the successor to the North African Football Cup .
