Copa Master de Supercopa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Copa Master de Supercopa (Libertadores) was a South American football club competition, which was planned annually from 1992, but was only held twice in 1992 and 1994. All winners of the Supercopa Sudamericana were eligible to participate .

In 1992, all four of the former Supercopa winners took part. The tournament took place at the Estadio José Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, home of CA Vélez Sársfield . In the second draw in 1994, which only took place in March 1995, there were only two teams left, so that the winner was determined in the first and second leg. The 1998 edition was scheduled for May 28th to June 7th in Avellaneda . After the tournament was only postponed because of the World Cup in France , no sponsors could be found in the end, so that this competition was ultimately stopped completely with this attempt.
