Copa Ganadores de Copa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Copa Ganadores de Copa , also known as "Recopa Sudamericano de Clubes" , was a South American football club competition that was played twice, in 1970 and 1971. Eligible was one club from each South American country that was not allowed to qualify for the Copa Libertadores . Some countries sent their national cup winners. However, Brazil and Colombia did not have any participants in either year. The game was played in groups in one place in a simple round. The competition should not be confused with the South American Supercup, the Recopa Sudamericana .
