Takako Suzuki

Takako Suzuki ( Japanese 鈴木 貴子 , Suzuki Takako ; born January 5, 1986 in Obihiro , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese politician and member of the national House of Representatives for the proportional representation block Hokkaidō. She currently belongs to the LDP .

Suzuki, the daughter of former LDP MP, minister and New Party Daichi founder Muneo Suzuki , joined the public broadcaster NHK in 2009 after graduating from the University of Toronto . In 2012 she switched to politics, took over the Daichi vice-chairmanship and ran for her father's party in the constituency of Hokkaidō 7 in the 2012 House of Representatives and was defeated by LDP incumbent Yoshitaka Itō with around 33% of the votes , but achieved with this constituency result ( sekihairitsu 69.9%) No. 2 on the Daichi proportional representation in the Hokkaidō block. When Tomohiro Ishikawa resigned in 2013, Suzuki became a member of the MP. She did not join any faction.

Before the 2014 election , when the opposition parties were working towards a common electoral strategy, Suzuki joined the Democratic Party . For this she was subject to Itō only by 225 votes, but was certainly elected in the proportional representation, especially since the Democratic Party had put her on the list before all other double candidates alone.

In view of the planned nomination strategy of the parties for the House of Representatives by-election in constituency 5 of Hokkaidō on April 24, 2016 - an opposition cooperation between the Democrats and the Communists, who withdrew their candidate in February, is expected to face a government candidate who may be supported by the New Daichi Party -, she submitted an application to leave the party in February 2016, and the party expelled her on March 1. She is considering joining the LDP and, after being excluded in the 2016 budget deliberations, voted for the draft of the LDP-Kōmeitō government. In September 2016 she joined the LDP parliamentary group in the House of Representatives ( Jiyūminshutō / Mushozoku no kai ). In 2017 she also joined the party. In the 2017 House of Representatives election , the LDP put her alone in front of the double candidates on the list in second place in the proportional representation in Hokkaidō, so she was relatively certain to be re-elected.
