Takuya Yamada ( Japanese 山田 琢 也 , Yamada Takuya ; born June 16, 1978 in Kijimadaira ) is a former Japanese archery biathlete and cross-country skier .

Takuya Yamada took part in several international championships in archery biathlon in the mid-2000s. At the 2004 World Championships in Pokljuka , he was 17th in the sprint, 15th in the pursuit and 13th in the mass start race. He achieved his greatest success at the last World Championships in Moscow in 2007 . He was ninth in the sprint, tenth in the pursuit race and ninth again in the mass start race. In the individual, he was carried away by the good results of his teammate Hiroyuki Urano , his best international performance and won the gold medal with three shooting errors before Kirill Malzew and Hiroyuki Urano. At the Japanese Championships in 2008, he won the silver medal behind Urano in the sprint race.

Between 1998 and 2006, Yamada also competed several times in international cross-country skiing races, such as the Continental Cup , the Alpine Cup , the Far East Cup and FIS races , but without achieving outstanding results.

He then switched to trail running , where he has won various national races since 2011.
