The Talaja ( Russian Талая ) is an approximately 19 km long, right-hand or southeastern tributary of the Ptschowscha in Ljubytino Rajon ( Novgorod Oblast ) in the European part of Russia . Its catchment area is 56.4 km².
course
The Talaja runs in the north-western part of the Eastern European Plain, on average, about 115 km northeast of Veliky Novgorod , the administrative center of Novgorod Oblast. It rises and flows in an almost unpopulated area. Running predominantly northwards, after about half of its course in the section between the Neboltschi and Budogoschtsch stations, it crosses the Saint Petersburg - Savjolowo railway line , which opened in 1919 and has a connection to Moscow from the latter city . The Talaja then passes the Tupik settlement and the hamlet of Chottschy to the west, after which it turns a bit to the west. Finally, it flows below the Wodogon on the Ptschowscha into the Ptschowscha , which flows 128 river kilometers below it into the Wolchow .
